who are you influenced by???
What’s the first the thing you see when someone walks into the room? Is it their personality, their life goals, their morals? No. Its what they have on. To some form of degree we all, as humans, look at what people have on. Some care more than others, and we may do it for different reasons but it is still something we all do. For those who do take clothing more seriously they pay attention to the textures, colors, color scheme, and many other things that may seem useless to an average person. They follow and change the fashion trends of the world. But why and how did the fashion world become so focused on street wear?
The “fashion aware” were very few and limited. The stylish were only the rich. Only the people who had the time and money to shop for designer clothes such as Versace, Gucci or Louis Vuitton though by the end of the 20th century things had started to change. Rappers such as Tupac started to take interest in clothing such as Versace in the mid 90’s. With Tupac’s influence on communities, more people started to get introduced to the higher quality clothing. Tupac no only did he influence communities but he also influenced future rappers. People such as A$ap mob, Drake, and Kanye west are some of the people that are now viewed as fashion icons in todays society.
Rappers are now able to dress more fashionably without seeming un-masculine. Because of this their listeners are now able to get into fashion and clothing. Street wear clothing lines such as Supreme and Bape have been able to make much more prophet because of the reach rappers have in urban communities. But what will clothing look like in the next 10 years? Because if the internet and media, we as humans are allowed to search and find other clothing brands then the ones offered up in stores and malls. Rappers such as A$ap rocky have started trends and brought foreign clothing brands to his listeners attention. Because of this American fashion enthusiast are now introduced to brands such as PYREX, Bape, and Supreme. It’s very interesting to see how clothing will take its next turn because of the media in the next 10 – 20 years.
